A Baby with No Name

In Haiti, when a child is born, there is pause to the celebration, and a choice to make. Do we name the baby now, or wait three months to see if she survives?

Being born in Haiti means being born into the country with the lowest rate of infant and maternal survival in the Western Hemisphere, if not world. Through the amazing work of our Diaper Drops, we are providing one key piece of the puzzle at increasing survival rates for both Mom & Baby: the simple blessing of diapers.

This little cutie is just 13 days old, and she’s holding her very first diaper. This diaper gives hope to her and her mother, knowing that there are others out there who care. It gives her an increase in basic sanitation and hygiene, and allows them to go to church and Mom’s lap will stay dry. Soon she will be named.

Thank you for the hope you bring. I encourage you to reach me at [email protected]. I’d love to hear from you.
