California Wildfire Relief: Helping Women & Children

Children are the most vulnerable population when disaster strikes. With wildfires raging in California, there are thousands of children in dire need of the basic necessity of diapers.

“When disaster strikes, families may find themselves with only the clothes on their backs” says Stephanie Bowers, co-founder of Jake’s Diapers. “They are in a desperate situation, just trying to survive.”

Federal disaster relief programs do not provide diapers or feminine hygiene items. Women and children are in dire need. Jake’s Diapers is proud to partner with The Rebecca Foundation to provide these basic needs to women and children in need.

The Rebecca Foundation’s Cloth Diaper Closet, a nonprofit diaper bank, has active chapters in California and Oregon. Their mission is to bring clean, reusable cloth diapers to economically disadvantaged families in the United States; directly working with recipients.

Jake’s Diapers, also a diaper bank, provides diapers to those in need through partner agencies who are the “boots on the ground”. With both of their skill sets combined, Jake’s and Rebecca’s are excited to help children impacted by the wildfires together. Jake’s Diapers will collect, prepare, and then provide the diapers for distribution by The Rebecca Foundation. The supply of diapers & personal hygiene items will lift up and assist families as they work to recover and rebuild from the wildfires.

CaringCrowd®, a crowdfunding platform proudly sponsored by Johnson & Johnson, will double all donations, up to $250, to support these efforts in wildfire relief and rebuilding.

“Every donation matters, and small change adds up to great impact.” says Bowers.
