During the holiday season, oftentimes gifts rank high on our minds – especially little children contemplating the new toys that will appear under the trees.
There are many ways we can encourage our youth to remember that the holiday season isn’t about getting but also giving – and volunteering with a local cause can be a great way to do that.
At Jake’s Diapers, we welcome volunteers young and old to help behind the scenes, and we have many long-term volunteers who enjoy us so much they come back time and again to give more. Take Audrey (5), Natalie (8) and Emily (10), for example.
These three girls volunteer on a regular basis with their mom, Holly, to “help families with young children,” as Natalie puts it.
The three girls help pack diaper kits and organize those kits into the relevant bins to prep for the recipients – something we spend a lot of time doing behind the scenes at Jake’s, and we’re always thankful for extra hands to help in the task.
More About Audrey, Natalie, and Emily:
Favorite Diaper Patterns? Audrey and Natalie agree that Tye Dye patterns are all the rave, while Emily really likes diapers with Baby Toothless (a black Dragon).
What Else Do They Do? When not volunteering, all three girls enjoy spending time with their cousins and friends as well as training in karate.
